Senior Special Adviser to President Buhari on Media and Publicity has opened up on the president's London meeting with APC governors and leaders, his health as well as his possible return date.
While speaking as a guest on Channels TV programme, Sunrise Daily on Monday morning, the Senior Special Adviser to President Muhamamdu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, spoke on the new photo of the president's meeting with some APC governors and party chieftains in the UK on Sunday, July 23rd.
The presidential spokesman during the interview, said after two years in office, Nigerians now have a better understanding of President Buhari and how he prefers to do things.
According to him, Nigerians elected President Buhari and should take him the way he is. He said this when asked why the media team did not advise President Buhari to do a video speaking to Nigerians.
"It is a matter of personal style. There is no style that you can call his style. The style of our president is what you have seen on display and by now, two years after he came into office, I’m sure that we should understand him.
"We should know the kind of person he is, we should know how he prefers to do things. So, that is the way the president is. We elected him willingly and we have seen that this is the way he is, so let’s take him the way he is."
On what was discussed at the meeting, Adesina said; “Governor Okorocha who is the head of the APC governors was in the delegation. We spoke on the phone and he gave me details. The president spoke with each person, state after state, asking of developments of their states.
"He spoke with the minister of transportation on the development in his sector. He must have also spoken with the party chairman on the development in the party on the forthcoming convention and all that. That was the feedback I got from Governor Okorocha when I spoke with him yesterday," he said.
When asked that concerns maybe be raised as he got all his information from a third party which is governor Okorocha, Adesina said: “Imagine if there was no information at all, this is third party information quite all right. It is information that Nigerians are glad at, there has been lots of rejoicing in the country since yesterday. So it’s something we appreciate.”
Adesina said in a couple of days, there would be another visit to President Buhari in the UK. “I am sure that in a couple of days, there is still going to be another visit, which may be more than this, but this is the first one and it was made mainly of APC governors and the national chairman of the party," he said.
