Armed cultists have clashed in Cross River State over a disagreement leaving about three people dead.
The clash left three people dead
Three people were killed in Cross River State after cult groups clashed as a result of an alleged coffin that was paraded round Calabar to welcome Governor Ben Ayade by some unknown persons.
The coffin had the inscription: "RIP Joe" refering to Joe Agi SAN, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party.
According to Ifere Paul, the parade was sponsored by Ayade appointees. It is alleged that the rival cult groups clashed as some did not support the parade. In order to show their animosity, they unleashed mayhem against each other leaving many seriously injured and three dead.
Ifere Paul who shared the news on his Facebook wrote: "There is a renewed war between various factions of cult groups. It is important to note that these activities are as a result of the coffin that was paraded round Calabar to welcome Governor Ben Ayade. The parade was sponsored by Ayade appointees.
The spiritual implications of parading a coffin was explicitly talked about in my previous article titled "Ayade demonizes Cross River State".
In another development, Operation Scolombo and police motors were burnt down by militants.
Governor Ben Ayade has not distributed the SUVs he bought for police men and other joint task forces to help combat crimes. The vehicles are parked at the governor's office for decoration."
