The Benue State Security Council on Wednesday announced a reward of five million Naira for anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Mr. Terwase Akwaza, alias Ghana, who has been declared wanted in connection with various crimes.
According to a statement signed by the acting Secretary to State Government, Bem B Melladu, the council took the decision at a meeting presided over by its chairman, Governor Samuel Ortom, at the Benue Peoples House.
The meeting appealed to the people of the state to volunteer information that would lead to the arrest of the wanted man and urged them not to give him and his gang members cover.
“Such information could be sent through text or calls to 08066006475, 07067374913, and 08036363531, as well as directly to the security agencies,” it informed.
The council directed the Commissioner of Police to review the case on the abduction and killing of Reverend Father John Adeyi with the view of tracking and bringing his killers to book.
He was also directed to check the activities of illegal timber dealers who were involved in deforestation of the state on a daily basis.
On the boundary conflict around Moon and Chanchangi the council resolved that the state should ensure and sustain the demarcation exercise by the Benue and Taraba State governments in conjunction with the National Boundary Commission.
It directed the security agencies to check the activities of some youths in Agatu local government area who are said to be taking the law into their hands.
