The Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF) has finally resolved to make some sacrifices in view of the current economic situation in the country.
Breifing State House correspondents after the NEC meeting yesterday, Kaduna State Governor Nasir el-Rufai listed those sacrifices as including reducing their convoys and excessive travels as well as stopping flamboyant lifestyles. He said:

"We have agreed that we should lower our external outlook in terms of dressing; excessive travels and convoys. If you observe, private jet business is not thriving. It is part of deliberate decisions we took.”
NEC also called for merger of federal agencies which are duplicating responsibilities. According to the council chaired by VP Yemi Osinbajo, 580 federal agencies are too many and cost too much.
El-Rufai added that, “At the federal level, we have suggested looking at the Orosanye report that suggested merger and reduce duplication of agencies. FG has 580 agencies. They are too many and they cost too much."
