Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom’s Commissioner for Arts and Culture, Sekav Dzua-Iortyom, was today remanded in prison custody by the Chief Magistrate Court (CMC) 4 Makurdi, presided over by CM Mrs. ikyeer on charges of murder.
The Commissioner was charged for the murder of Aondosoo Tondo who was at the time of his murder a lecturer at the University of Mkar and was also an aspirant in the race for the chairmanship of Buruku Local Government Council.
Following the shooting to death of the lecturer a few months back, Sekav Dzua-Iortyom was fingered as a prime suspect alongside several others, including the Sole Administrator of Buruku LGC, David Yimam.

The suspects were interrogated by the Police over the matter, but when they were to be arraigned in court, the Ortom Commissioner absconded and was subsequently declared wanted by the Police.
He is said to have been arrested yesterday in Makurdi.
Reports have it that earlier today the Police took the First Information Report (FIR) to Chief Magistrate Court (CMC) 1 Makurdi, but the Presiding Judge, CM Isaac Ajim declined listening to the case.
The Police therefrom transferred the case to CMC 4 where CM Mrs. Ikyeer remanded the suspect in custody at the Medium Security Prisons, Makurdi and adjourned the case to 9 February 2017.
