Four suspected members of the Shi'a Islamic sect were on Wednesday, attacked and killed by irate youth in Tudun Wada community in Kaduna South Local Government Area, the group's leader's residence was also torched as the mob went further and demolished the Shiite's Islamic school in the area.
Speaking exclusively to Premium Times, one Shiite leader said; "It's the police that ordered the youths to attack us and to destroy our buildings. We shall address a press conference to give account of our encounter later," he said.
It was gathered that an attempt by the Shiites to address a press conference at the Nigeria Union of Journalists secretariat, was botched as all of the journalists went underground.
Also speaking to reporter on the incident, a shopowner at Zango road, Mallam Bala, said the angry youth prevented the Shiite members from entering their communities after being dispersed by police tear gas.
