Ex-Benue Governor, Gabriel Suswam has alleged that he is the most persecuted former governors in the country.
He made this remark while debunking rumors of his arrest by security agencies in Abuja.
According to him, he was not arrested by the police and described what transpired as a routine invitation to the police headquarters on the strength of frivolous petitions written against him by the Ortom administration in which he spent barely twenty minutes and left the Police complex with his supporters.
Suswam lamented being the most persecuted, prosecuted and investigated former governor in the country even though there’s been no credible evidence of corrupt practice against him.
He said he served the state diligently, especially through the legacy of his lasting economic and infrastructural development of the state.
Suswam’s two terms as governor between 2007 and 2015 has been a subject and an intense probe by his successor, Governor Samuel Ortom who concluded that the former governor looted N107bn.
