Celebration in Edo State as INEC Presents Certificate of Return to Governor-elect, Obaseki (Photos)

Winner of the just concluded Edo state gubernatorial elections, Godwin Obaseki and his deputy have been presented with certificates of return today by the INEC in Benin.

At a media event held on Thursday in Benin, the Edo state capital, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), officially presented a Certificate of Return (COR) to Godwin Obaseki, the winner of the just concluded Edo state gubernatorial elections, and Philip Shuaibu his deputy.

 

The INEC National Commissioner in-charge of South-South zone, Dr Mustafa Muhammed, who personally presented the certificates to the governor-elect and his deputy, promised that INEC would improve the electoral system in conduct of future elections.

 

 

In a brief remark, the governor-elect, Obaseki thanked the people of Edo state for their support before and after the elections, promising to put their interests before his.
