Nigeria's Central Bank Governor, Godwin Emefiele has expressed joy after his wife was swiftly rescued by security operatives.

The governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele has spoken after his wife was released. Emefiele spoke on Saturday to newsmen after the gallant efforts of the Nigerian police helped in rescuing his wife at Ugoneki near Benin City late Friday.
Expressing his joy he said: “I am grateful security agencies for their gallantry in bringing my wife back home within 24 hours in compliance with the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari.
“My gratitude to the Delta and Edo State governments, friends and well wishers who, through their actions, prayers and goodwill, helped to bring this harrowing experience to a joyful end.
“I reaffirm my resolve to continue to serve the nation diligently with all his heart without any fear of intimidation,”
According to a report by SaharaReporters, it is believed Emefiele gave the kidnappers N80 million ransom. The abductors had demanded N1.5 billion for Mrs. Emefiele to be released.
