Taraba State Governor, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku today swore in the new Head of Civil Service, a Commissioner in the Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission TSIEC, twelve Permanent Secretaries and three Local Council Chairmen.
In his speech at the Exco Chambers, Government House, Darius Ishaku tasked the new Head of Service to work with renewed vigour to ensure discipline, entrench professionalism, sanitise and boost morals in the Civil Service.
To the Permanent Secretaries, the Governor charged them to conduct themselves with utmost diligence, commitment, transparency and high sense of accountability and prudence in the management of resources, considering the difficulties being faced in the country.
Accordingly, he urged the Commissioner of the Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission TSIEC, to be proactive as he anticipates a speedy arrangement that would culminate into a credible Local Government elections.
In the same vein, Governor Darius Ishaku challenged the three newly sworn in Chairmen of Ardo Kola, Sardauna and Zing to work assiduously with all the stakeholders and traditional rulers towards ensuring peaceful coexistence in their respective domain.
The Governor noted that in the past one and the half years of his administration, the Head of Service and some Permanent Secretaries in the State civil service have retired, which necessitated the appointment and subsequent swearing in of new ones to fill in the vacuum created by their exit.
He then used the forum to appeal to the new appointees thus, “I want to use this opportunity to welcome the newly sworn in officials on board the Rescue Team, I urge you all to speedily familiarise yourselves with the Rescue Agenda so that we can operate on the same page”.
Governor Darius Ishaku beckoned on them to be proactive in all that they will do so as to help move the state forward.
Responding on behalf of the newly appointed officials, the new Head of Service, Mr. Simon Angyu thanked the Governor for finding them worthy and assured that they will work assiduously to ensure the success of the Rescue Mission and stressed that this is the first time that the Governor is appointing technocrats since he assumed leadership in the State.
Simon Angyu maintained that they would work committedly to accord the present administration the desired support to succeed and praised the Governor for being apt in the payment of salaries in the State despite the harsh economic condition of the country.
The newly sworn in Head of Service is Mr. Simon Istifanus Angyu, Mr. Gubairu Joel Danfulani, TSIEC Commissioner and twelve Permanent Secretaries which included Aboki Zacharia, Taninga Danjuma, Dr. Musa Obadiah and Dr. Isa Hamza.
Others are Haruna Bako, Kachebri Joseph, Zakaria Yurma, Ada Samson, Arc. Christopher Shaki, Joshua Tanko, Barr. Apwenyang Yamusa Shitta and Anthony Wakili.
The new Caretaker Chairmen are Hon. Salisu Dogo Ardo Kola, Hon. John Bayip Eyap, Sardauna and that of Zing is Hon. Christopher Kashombila.
The oath of office was administered on the new appointees by the State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Josephine Tuktur.
